Software Developer – Java / Web
ODW LTS is a fast growing, third-party logistics and transportation services provider. Our operation hinges on the execution of the software development team to deliver the applications and move data.
This role is responsible for the development and maintenance of applications and will be a key member of the development team.  More specifically, the role will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications and functionality within our business-to-business portal, building applications and interfaces to our existing systems as well as creating and interfacing to customer and vendor APIs.
The ideal candidate for this position should have end-to-end web application knowledge as well as be comfortable handling requirements gathering and design communication. Candidates should be hard working, self-motivated and have the ability to work independently or within a team. 
Software Developer Duties
  • Develop using the Java language, the design patterns and paradigms of Java
  • Develop with object oriented design in mind
  • Develop and maintain Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc...)
  • Develop responsive web UIs with a strong sense of design and consistency
  • Work and communicate effectively in a fast paced, demand driven environment
  • Design solutions that are efficient, effective and coherent to the existing architecture and design
  • Work within a pre-existing code base to maintain and develop new features in existing applications
  • Degree in Computer Science (Related Field) or Equivalent Professional Experience
  • 2+ years experience of writing applications in Java
  • Experience with Spring Framework/Spring Boot
  • Experience with AngularJS/Angular 5
  • Knowledgeable in Typescript/ JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc
  • Experience implementing and interfacing to REST/SOAP APIs; XML, XSDs, and JSON
  • Experience with MySql or MSSQL
  • Experience working with/using Git
  • Gather requirements, design, and implement applications

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel as well as reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
  • Position is primarily at the Hamilton, OH office location. If business demands any travel, Management will review with the employee in advance.

  • Full time position
  • 40 hour work week (Monday – Friday only)
  • Health, dental and supplementary insurance available after 60-day probationary period
