As we begin offering education on Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Greater Hamilton Chamber will be partnering with our Centennial Sustaining Sponsor Dale Gibbons, Business Breakthrough Advisors on Thursday, September 28 at 1:00 p.m. (recording for those who register) for "How to Use A.I. to Increase Profits, Work More Efficiently, and Save Time".
As everyone starts using AI and learns to use it well… What do you do that’s better?
According to author and researcher Steven Kotler, there are three human skills you should focus on to make the most of AI:
Communication
AI is like a high-performance sports car, but it needs clear directions, like GPS guidance. You must communicate your thoughts, goals, and ideas effectively.
The way to do this is to read, write, and learn...a lot. Doing this helps organize your thoughts in a more clear, precise, and organized way. It also helps feed your pattern recognition system, which helps you spot exceptional communication wherever you go and even produce it yourself.
Leadership
Leadership is about inspiring and influencing others—and AI—to achieve a common goal. It's a lot like coaching, right?
Just like humans trying to reach a goal, AI is lost without leadership.
It needs a clear goal and specific direction.
Without a leader, both AI and most humans are self-governed under frazzled conditions in a blind-leading-the-blind scramble.
Depending on the common goal and the circumstances, we humans and AI need someone to lead us, guide us, and walk beside us through the whirlwind of change and uncertainty. Even coaches have coaches, right?
Creativity
AI in its current form can mash up exciting elements, but it can't generate truly original, creative ideas.
As Jaron Lanier, the founder of the field of virtual reality (VR), put it:
"The new programs mash up work done by human minds. What’s innovative is that the mashup process has become guided and constrained, so that the results are usable and often striking. This is a significant achievement and worth celebrating—but it can be thought of as illuminating previously hidden concordances between human creations, rather than as the invention of a new mind."
AI can augment your creativity, but it can’t replace it.
But making the most of AI and staying current won't be easy.
That's why we're inviting you to an event hosted by Greater Hamilton Chamber member and Sustaining Centennial Sponsor, Dale Gibbons with Business Breakthrough Advisors.
He'll be sharing the latest on AI and how to stay ahead (in other words, not get left behind) so you can remain relevant, profitable, and sustainable during this time of unprecedented disruption.
